The Earth in Space - Exam 2

Our solar system is positiond on the edge of our galaxy. While the galaxy spins in a spiral motion our solar system spins in a circular motion. Our solar system is to believed to be over 4 billion years old. They also believe that the univese is between 12 billion and 14 billion years old. They say that the universe is endless and that all the galaxys in the universe will be gone because they will never stop expanding.(1)

From my prior knoledge before the big bang there was almost nothing in the universe exccept a single star. then that star exploded and created the universe we know to day. It was believed that in that star was all of the chemicals and atoms that we know today. So when the star blew up it realsed all of that aand new stars were formed and from that galaxys were formed.

It is believed that the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) is the radiation left over from the big bang. From this radiation scientists can look at it and determine how old the universe is. Scientists are still uncertan of how old the universe is because the CMB that they look at is very small compared to the thousands that is out there.(2)

Energy in Earth Systems- final Exam 1

Nonrenewable energy is from the decompotion of plants and animals. These are known as fossil fuels and we use these to power our cars, heat our house, and use to make the stu we use in every day life. However renewable is not the same as fossil fuels. It is a much newer way to power things and comes rom windturbines, solar raditation rom the sun ect. As a start renewable energy is put into hybrid cars and is only run on electricity.(1)

The earth has a closed system which allows energy to change. Most of the energy from the sun gets absorbed but some of the energy gets bounced back to space. The energy absorbed becomes used into other forms of energy.(2)

Coduction occusrs when heat flows threw a solid or a liquid and causes the elctrons to vibrate. The vibration causes them to heat up and change there state. Convection is when liquid is on a hot surface and heats up into a gas much faster than normal. Radiation comes from the sun and is absob by the earth and used to crate energy.(3)

Space observation

while observing the night sky i saw a few things. I saw the moon change phases. I saw orian, with the big and little dipper. I also watched the metor shower last night.

Nature Trail 2

I visited the NASA site and created an account. On the site I saw a bunch of images of Space. I took some of thoes images and put them onto my profile. I also saw some videos that deal with NASA and added some of thoes to my profile.

bio bottle

My bio bottle is going good. my fish and plants are still alive and healthy. i am watering the plants and feeding the fish.
